History of the clinic
1993
Dr. Chih-Wei Rei opens the clinic in Lisle
Dr. Rei founded Acupuncture Science and Chiropractic Clinic and spent the next 30 years treating patients from Lisle and the surrounding suburbs, combining chiropractic care with acupuncture.
2023
Dr. Rei passes the practice to Dr. Sheng Hua
In 2023 Dr. Rei handed the practice to Dr. Sheng Hua, a chiropractor certified in acupuncture. The clinic kept its name, its phone number, and its approach.
Today
Same clinic, led by Dr. Hua
Dr. Hua sees patients at 3060 Ogden Ave in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish, four days a week.
Why chiropractic and acupuncture together
Chiropractic care works on how the joints of the spine move. Acupuncture comes from traditional Chinese medicine and uses fine needles at specific points. Dr. Rei offered both in the same visit from the day the clinic opened, and Dr. Hua continues that.
In practice, that might mean an adjustment for a stiff low back followed by acupuncture for the muscles around it. Or it might mean only one of the two. It depends on what you come in with and what you are comfortable with.
